Joint artist statement
The artists Kirsti Taylor Bye and Erik Betshammar works together in a conceptual and photographic tradition to explore and experiment with the photographic medium as an idea, as a concept and as a material. Their artistic practice is focused on the history behind photographic concepts and how they are used. In recent years, they have been particularly interested in the words digital and analogue, how they are used in a photographic context, but also the meaning of them in a wider sense.
Their artworks often consists of photographs, installations, collages and translations. In the process of doing these, the desire to do something new is central.
Erik Betshammar (b. 1985 in Västerås, Sweden) is a photographer and artist. He holds an MFA in photography (2012) from School of Photography at Göteborgs University.

Kirsti Taylor Bye (b. 1985 in Trondheim, Norway) is a photographer and artist. She has an MFA in photography (2011) from School of Photography at Göteborgs University.

The duo is currently living together in Göteborg, Sweden where they also share a joint studio.
